PRAYER FOR THE MIDDLE EAST - Message from Martine Oborne

Dear Friends

I know that you are all horrified by recent events in Israel-Palestine and are praying for peace, and I thought it would be good to provide a space for the community to come together to pray and have a time of quiet to bring our hearts and minds to rest on what is happening and yearn for an end to the violence.

Bishop Sarah encourages us to join in with Archbishop Hosam Naoum of Jerusalem, who has offered the following prayer:

O God of all justice and peace, we cry out to you in the midst of the pain and trauma of violence and fear which prevails in the Holy Land.
Be with those who need you in these days of suffering; we pray for people of all faiths – Jews, Muslims and Christians and for all people of the land.
While we pray to you, O Lord, for an end to violence and the establishment of peace, we also call for you to bring justice and equity to the peoples. Guide us into your kingdom where all people are treated with dignity and honour as your children – for to all of us you are our Heavenly Father.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen

Do join us whether you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, of another faith or no faith. We are all brothers and sisters, members of the same family of humanity - and it is good to remember this at this time.

Love and God bless

Martine (Vicar)
